Linebacker Mike Parsons is pushing potential rookie honors aside and is now competing for the defensive player of the year. His performance has always impressed the Dallas Cowboys. Due to COVID-19 and the regular flu, the Detroit Lions lost 18 players, but the settlement of Penne Seville did not use this as an excuse to slow down his reign. For the Cincinnati Bengals, Jamal Chase left some opportunities on the table, but in other situations played well against the San Francisco 49ers.

The marginal impact class had a difficult weekend, and the three players who played outside Parsons all performed below average. In terms of quarterbacks, the top two picks in the draft, Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson, continue to bleak.

Let's take a closer look at the performance of each 2021 first-round player in Week 14 and the entire season.

If you've heard this before, please stop me, but Lawrence and Jacksonville's offense was ugly in another disappointing performance this week. Lawrence averaged 5.5 yards per shot and made 4 interceptions in just 1 big ball. He has only passed 9 first descents out of 44 descents, and only one unfinished descent is a descent.

There is no doubt that Lawrence has almost no help by his side, but he has not shown enough enthusiasm in his own game, and the number of errors in his game is worrying.

When you were eliminated by Taysom Hill as a passer, something went wrong. This is the reality Wilson faced this week after another fiasco. The rookie dropped 49 passes against the Saints and only completed 19 passes for 202 yards (4.8 YPA). The silver lining is that he avoided any games worthy of turnovers, but lack of rhythm and production baseline has always been the theme of his rookie season.

Wilson may beat some of his best receivers, but this is only part of the explanation for his performance.

Lance did not see the 49ers game again this week. Although the 49ers deployed him for a few fast breaks at the beginning of the season, they recently abandoned this strategy, and Jimmy Gallopolo is playing his best football. Since week 5, Lance has only taken 5 snapshots.

Kyle Pitts was targeted six times against Carolina and caught five of them at 64 yards. The only unfinished was in a fierce match against Miles Hartsfield's left sideline. Pitts showed a good touch and strength at the receiving point and brought more than one goal in this game. He was once again deployed in the entire formation. If the Falcons choose to take advantage of these advantages, he sees alignment in the open and splits out as a true wide receiver, which provides some real counterpoint advantages for the Falcons' offense.

The connection between Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase was a potentially disruptive factor for Cincinnati's offense. The Bengals achieved the greatest success when the game plan became "Let these two men play". Burrow threw at Chase eight times, resulting in five catches and two touchdowns for 77 yards. Chase dropped one incomplete, and the video replay took the other away after it was initially ruled as a touchdown. No one on the 49ers can cover him throughout the game, and despite his high scores, he averaged 1.97 yards per route.

Wardle bid farewell to the Miami Dolphins this week. In recent weeks, he has been an influential player in their offense and has been a chain mover throughout the year. He leads all rookies in goals and catches, and ranks tied for fifth in yards per route.

Sewell is quietly starting to dominate the offensive line-not just playing well for the rookie. In the game against Denver, he had a total PFF score of 91.0 and only allowed two quick breaks in 42 pass interceptions. Since Week 6, he has dominated the running game and has the highest PFF score in any tackle in the league except Trent Williams. Sewell h only allows one sacking throughout the season and has a running score of 88.7 PFF. In the past three weeks, he has scored at least 93.0 twice in this field.

On Thursday night of week 3 of the 2021 NFL season, Horne broke his foot after an encouraging start to the campaign. He is expected to miss the rest of the rookie season.
