For many years, the serious HyperX Alloy FPS has been the main contender for the best TKL (keyless) mechanical keyboard. However, this did not prevent HyperX from expanding its TKL keyboard range through HyperX Alloy Origins Core. This keyboard was originally released in 2019 and includes additional features and accessories for gamers who need style and reliability. To customize HyperX switch, you can choose HyperX Red switch or HyperX Aqua switch. The latest model released on May 24 is equipped with HyperX Blue Switch, which is the latest gaming keyboard that I had the honor to review.

At first glance, Alloy Origins Core is stylish, compact and stylish. Priced at 195 Australian dollars, the quality of the keyboard is very obvious. The top and bottom of the keyboard are encapsulated in an aviation-grade aluminum body. Unlike most keyboards that use plastic instead of the base, it brings a heavier and more durable feel. Unexpectedly, despite being made of aluminum, Alloy Origins Core is not bulky. On the contrary, it looks slim due to its low-key design. In fact, the keyboard embodies a modern and simple style through its smooth edges and floating key design. Due to the partially exposed switch, the internal RGB LED lights illuminate, illuminating the keyboard with a vibrant and bright light. The board meets the gaming aesthetics by adding three adjustable keyboard tilt angles (3°, 7° or 11°) while maintaining practicality, allowing you to adjust for maximum comfort.

The latest feature added to the Alloy Origins Core series is HyperX Blue Switch. Compared with the CHERRY MX Blue Switch with a 2.2mm drive point and a 4mm travel distance, the HyperX Blue Switch adopts a point-and-click operation style design, with a drive point of only 1.8mm and a travel distance of 3.8mm. Although the difference may seem trivial, the result is a smooth and fast typing experience.

In addition, the operating force of the HyperX Blue Switch is 50g, which means minimal resistance. This sometimes comes at a price, because the keys can get stuck or register with the smallest keys, which can be frustrating in the middle of the game. However, despite the speed, the iconic click sound has not been lost. On the contrary, keystrokes will produce a crisp, sharp but not overbearing sound. Unfortunately, it is said to have a life span of 80 million keystrokes, but the keycaps are made of ABS plastic, and this life span may vary from user to user.

The keyboard itself includes some convenient functions. As always, anti-ghosting and n-key rollover functions help keep key input uninterrupted and relaxed. The HyperX keyboard includes a specific "game mode" feature that disables the Windows key, so you won't accidentally exit the game. There are multiple volume controls, including pause, play and skip buttons. Finally, you can save the RGB LED settings in three configuration files; however, this has proven difficult.

HyperX NGENUITY software can control all your RGB settings, but since it is still in the testing phase, the software is very flawed. The RGB settings will not be synchronized to my keyboard, and the various preset options will not be saved when I exit the program. I had to reinstall the software several times until it worked. Even so, my settings are only saved when I exit the program through the task manager. If you spend AU$195 on the keyboard, you want it to run smoothly without any problems, but unfortunately, HyperX NGENUITY is difficult to deliver.

HyperX Alloy Origins Core (blue switch) mechanical keyboard is a perfect combination of style and quality. The circuit board is well made, and the switch is smooth and obvious. Although the lack of software, the keycaps are made of ABS plastic, which is easy to get stuck, but the rich functions and compact design make up for the lack of the keyboard.

Highlights: pronunciation and smooth switches; disadvantages: lack of software; keys can prove to be a bit sensitive Manufacturer: HyperX Price: AUD 195 Available: Now
