T he architect Amanda Bone opened her award-winning business, Amanda Bone Architects, in 2000, specialising in domestic and commercial projects as well as building conservation. Bone teaches at the Dublin School of Architecture and became a household name in 2021 when she joined RTE’s Home of the Year as a judge. She is a contributor on Imagine a Better Way, a new online series offering advice to homeowners on sustainability and energy efficiency. Bone, 49, lives in Bray, Co Wicklow, with her partner, Niall, who is also an architect.

Where is home? I grew up in Bray and left for college at 18, not thinking I would return. We were living in Dublin and I needed to get back to the sea and the mountains.
