On this episode of In The Know: Find My Dream Room, host Will Taylor (@brightbazaar) helps NYC renters Justin and Shulin find a spacious, sunlit, one-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn. Justin and Shulin would love a unit with floor-to-ceiling windows and tons of natural light, as well as a modern, sleek kitchen. Working with a budget of around $4,500 a month, can Will help Justin and Shulin find their perfect Brooklyn abode? Let’s see!

First on Will’s list is the “Luxury One-Bedroom,” which rents for right on budget at $4,500 a month. Justin and Shulin are immediately drawn to the unit’s floor-to-ceiling windows and breathtaking views. The natural light-filled space features high ceilings and a sleek, modern open-concept kitchen with a large island in the center. The apartment offers plenty of closet space, and the spacious bedroom, which has floor-to-ceiling windows as well, has an even better view than the living room!

Next up is the “Modern One-Bedroom,” which has a monthly rent of $4,200 a month, which is right under budget. The kitchen layout is similar to the first apartment, which Justin and Shulin love, especially given the lower price point. The massive living space features floor-to-ceiling windows, and there’s even an in-unit washer and dryer as an added bonus! The bedroom is slightly on the smaller size, but the spacious living room may be enough to make up for it.

The final unit of the tour is the “Patio Apartment,” which has a monthly rent of $4,300. The kitchen has modern, sleek appliances, including a dishwasher, and the bedroom has extra high ceilings and plenty of natural light. However, the best feature of the apartment, as the name suggests, is the large, private patio that has more than enough space to entertain guests. The patio, which as Justin notes is larger than the apartment itself, definitely puts this unit in the running.

One month later, Justin and Shulin reveal that they went with apartment number two, aka the “Modern One-Bedroom.” The couple loved that the apartment suited their must-haves, and they’re thankful that Will was able to make it all happen!
