Dreaming of exploring stunning new views of the cosmos or finding the source of radio signals from a faraway galaxy ? This home looks like it could take you there.

The four-bedroom, 2.5-bath spaceship-like contemporary at 175 Chestnut Lane in Hamden, Conn., hit the market last month for $629,000. On Monday, the listing piqued the interest of thousands on Twitter after it was featured on the popular account @ZillowGoneWild .

“This place is amazing — like living in a spaceship,” one Twitter user wrote .

“This house looks like it could take off and shoot into orbit at any moment,” another posted .

As of Wednesday afternoon, the post had garnered more than 27,000 likes and 1,300-plus retweets, many from fans of the home’s unique design.

The 2,912-square-foot abode – which was also likened to a Tesla Cybertruck , a BMX bike ramp , a Sims house , and a Wienerschnitzel restaurant – was custom designed for the current owners in 1969 by David Sellers , a Yale-educated architect known for integrating nature and sustainability into his designs. This style is what likely made the home a social media sensation, listing agent Wojtek Borowski of Pearce Real Estate , said.

“I think it’s the unusual design that sort of was intended to work with nature, with the surroundings. I think that’s what stands out,” Borowski said.

The interior strikes a more retro chord, with colorful, carpeted floors throughout and a bright orange-and-green half bathroom on the first floor. The kitchen, custom designed by another Yale architect, Tom Luckey, looks plucked from a ’70s sitcom, with bright, multicolored cabinets and drawers and a carved-teak sink.

Two long picture windows in the dining room allow residents to immerse themselves in nature without having to leave the comfort of the indoors; the home’s location at the edge of Sleeping Giant State Park means there is a lot of nature to enjoy.

On the home’s second level, the four bedrooms each have carpeted floors and picture windows, offering views and plenty of natural light. The primary bedroom also has an en-suite bathroom and its own deck, accessible through a wall of sliding glass doors.

Though there’s no garage, the unique building shape creates a covered parking space. The 4.2-acre lot offers privacy.

Interested buyers may want to hurry to make an offer before liftoff.
